A LEARNING NETWORK FOR IMPROVING MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
We hope that you, your family, friends and colleagues are keeping safe and well in these extraordinary times. In the thirty years of TheMHS mental health events, we have never had to cancel a conference or symposium. With these unprecedented circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we are pleased to announce that this year’s annual TheMHS Conference will continue but it will be postponed until February 2021.
We thank those of you who have submitted abstracts for the 2020 conference. There has been a keen interest in the Perth TheMHS Conference with over 300 abstracts received by the deadline. The review of abstracts is proceeding, however, there will be a short delay which means that we will notify you of acceptance by mid-May 2020.
For those interested in submitting an application for a TheMHS Award, the deadlines for submissions have been extended. The new dates are:
Service and Program, Research, and Exceptional Contribution Awards: Wednesday August 5th, 2020
Media Awards: Wednesday September 2nd, 2020
TheMHS continues to monitor government advice, and considering the current ban on indoor public gatherings, the shut-down of non-essential services, and ban on non-essential travel, we have opted to temporarily halt registrations for the annual conference. We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable event, so will keep you appraised of any changes with the conference via email and our website.
We thank everyone, from sponsors and organising committees to delegates, for your ongoing support, and we sincerely hope that you will join us in Perth next February.
