NEW App for Carers being launched at TheMHS Conference!

By June 21, 2018 No Comments

Something very new and exciting in improving carer engagement!

Now, mental health services and community managed organisations have an App to support the implementation of the Practical Guide for Working with Carers of People with a Mental Illness.

The Carer Guide App will be launched by Dr Peggy Brown AO, CEO, National Mental Health Commission at this year’s TheMHS Conference.

The App allows service providers to undertake a self-assessment against the six Partnership Standards within the Carer Guide.  The App also allows services and organisations to access six different reports, showing carer engagement.  The reports would enable organisations and services to identify progress and any additional training or education that may be required.

The Carer Guide App self-assessment will support service providers to work with families and carers in a meaningful, mutually beneficial way, and support a partnership approach which will enhance outcomes for consumers, and support families and carers in their caring role.  The underpinning principle is that carers are equal partners in care.

Join the launch which will be taking place on Thursday 30th August at the TheMHS Conference!
