TheMHS Outstanding Contribution Awards recognise individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to mental health service delivery and acknowledge a remarkable accomplishment and wide sphere of influence.

There is no entry fee applicable.

The Exceptional Contribution Award acknowledges an individual's remarkable accomplishments in the unfolding story of Mental Health Service delivery in Australia and/or New Zealand.

An individual may be nominated from any mental health background (e.g. professionals, consumers, families and carers, managers, researchers or policy-makers).

This Award, created in 2015, honours a unique and inspiring contribution to Mental Health by an individual or organisation and

2017 TheMHS Medal Winner 2017: Mental Health First Aid Australia

 is awarded at the discretion of TheMHS Award Committee.

2016 OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT FOR PEER

 WORK IN NEW ZEALAND AWARD

Awarded to Jim Burdett, Auckland, New Zealand. Jim is the founder, and until the end of 2015 was the director, of The Mind and Body Group and has been active in consumer affairs since 1997 in a variety of roles.

This award represents an acknowledgement of an outstanding peer who has had significant influence on the 

development of the service user, consumer and peer workforce and has demonstrated leadership in bringing about innovation and sustainable change within that workforce in the area of mental health and addiction
