Abstract: Background: To date little is known of the experience of mental health consumers who are on Community Treatment Orders (CTOs) who access community mental health support services (CMHSS). Methods: This was a retrospective data mining study involving 29 people on CTOs. Results: There were some expected results in relation to the demographic profile and recovery goals evident, but also some unexpected findings and indications that there was a diversity of needs and goals. Conclusions: It is recommended that CMHSS develop more sensitivity to the particular needs of people on CTOs and encourage improved engagement and access.
