Abstract: The ARC (Action, Recovery, Community) Group NSW Inc. is an organisation run by people with lived experience of mental health issues. We offer peer support to anyone in NSW with lived experience in a safe, stigma free environment. In December 2010 ARC was evicted from it’s home, Daintree, in Callan Park . Since then, ARC has been working towards setting up a Recovery Centre on the site of the former Rozelle Psychiatric Hospital at Callan Park under the Callan Park Master Plan. The efforts of ARC members and management committee have been outstanding since incorporation in April 2010. However, we are still without a home, activities run by ARC are limited and we have no funds to pay for Public Liability Insurance to expand our activities. Richmond PRA allows ARC to use Buckingham House for meetings once a month. The management team are re evaluating ARC’s options in 2013. We have identified our most immediate and pressing objectives: 1.fundraising, 2. activities consumers want to participate in, 3. obtaining office space and an activities space in Callan Park. The possibility of social enterprise has been floated. The audience will learn how the management and members are rising to these challenges.
