Abstract: Implementation of the Consumer Consultant Team identified a new part of the journey for mental health services in North Queensland. The introduction of the Consumer Consultant team marked the end of a change process and indicated the next step forward in the journey. This paper will discuss part of the journey that enabled the presence of the consumer consultants. Application of Satir’s change model will provide a framework to help with understanding the process that occurred.
