Abstract: This paper presents a brief overview of a client centred model of psychotherapy derived from the book "Journey to the centre of your life – the map" (Snyder, 1999). A review by Professor Michael Clinton, (2000) describes the book as "the nearest thing available to a handbook for life". In this paper how the model was derived, who is using it and a brief overview of the model is described. The model is a simple metaphorical representation of complex psychological processes that most people can easily understand and gives therapists a way of explaining the therapy. Therapy is based on where a client says they are rather than the behaviours they exhibit. Further evaluation is required and welcomed.
