Abstract: This paper will initially describe the emergence of the mental health Carer Consultant Network of Victoria and its role in fostering the development of carer consultant and carer peer support workers (CC/CPSW) positions in the context of the growth of a mental health carer peer workforce. We will then go on to present the outcomes of an explorative workshop with CC/CPSWs that set out to research and articulate key principles, learnings and practices that shape and inform carer consultant/peer practice (CC/Peer practice) in the mental health service setting.
