Abstract: Korowai Whaimana – ‘The Empowering Cloak’ is a human rights education and empowerment programme for addressing human rights issues for people with experience of mental illness. Since 2004, Korowai Whaimana has trained over 30 people with experience of mental illness to deliver workshops to their mental health communities across New Zealand, and nearly 700 people have attended over 70 workshops. This paper provides an overview of the recent evaluation of Korowai Whaimana.
