Abstract: Landmark aims to provide a better quality of life for young people with a mental illness. It particularly targets those 17 - 25 year old men and women who are homeless or living in an unsuitable environment. The young person with the help pf Landmark staff find accommodation and then are supported in that accommodation. The support is offered in a way that will lead each participant towards independent living. THe Support Workers that are employed each have a mental illness and so become role modeals for the young people in Landmark. Two young people share a household and provide support for each other. They share costs so making independent living more affordable. The style of accommodation also gives the partipants more stability and allows them to consider other goals in life. There is an office from which the Project is co-ordinated. Staff have contact with the participants at either place. THe project aims to work with a maximum of twleve (12) young people at any time.
