Abstract: In this paper I will touch on the history of the Pacific Island Mental Health Service (commonly referred to as Lotofale). I will talk about our journey, our experiences and struggles through the five years of our development. I will include aspects of our organisational structure, philosophy and strategies. I will trace the development of Lotofale from the small beginning five years ago to the present where we are now a fairly large service delivering a range of quality programmes and services to Pacific Island Consumers.
