Abstract: This qualitative research study has explored the experiences of seven graduates from the National Diploma of Mental Health (Mental Health Support Work) programme and their respective employers. The graduates were employed in two local Non Government Organisations (NGO’s). The purpose of the study was to evaluate the relevance and impact of the course on graduate work practise. The study found that as a result of completing the Diploma, the graduates increased their communication skills, leadership, and their ability to apply theory in their practice.
