Abstract: The production of ‘Norwood Unscripted’, a book charting the journey of Norwood Psychiatric Disability Rehabilitation Support Service (PDRSS), has been a crowning glory for the organisation to commemorate twenty years of selfless service to its consumers. In today’s climate of mental illness affecting almost one in five Australians, the vision of mental health professionals is to find better ways to break the cycle and work towards a mentally healthier future. Consumer inclusiveness in any project is an invaluable and enriching experience for both the consumers and for the professionals who work with them. This paper will outline the processes that the organization went through to produce a valuable collection of facts and anecdotes that brought forth empowerment to its participants. The paper also aims at sharing the rewarding experience of working with consumers, carers, staff, board members and the community to bring this project to fruition.
