Abstract: Objective: Exploration of potential impact and contributions of an international mental health training exchange program (St. Vincent’s Postgraduate Overseas Specialists Training program) on an identified health service need of developing Cultural Responsiveness in the Mental Health Workforce
Method: Online survey conducted to evaluate 360° view of likely outcomes and impacts for participating Victorian trainers in the Postgraduate Overseas Specialists (POST) Program.
Results: The POST program was found to have the capacity to improve cultural responsiveness and potential to contribute to key indicators of a culturally competent workforce. In building relationships with other international organisations and mental health professionals, and understanding of their mental health system, culture and working roles, Victorian mental health services can broaden their capacity to improve their cultural responsiveness
