Abstract: The current trend in psychiatric rehabilitation which has switched focus from day to day and living skills centres to community outreach is desirable although experience shows that despite best intentions the process of integration into the community is more difficult than is often anticipated. The differing obstacles encountered during the transitory stage need to be addressed or the attempt to mainstream many of these clients will ultimately fail. PRS has developed a service model based on a specialist clinical program which guides and works closely with non-clinical specialists to maximise successful integration. The model combines comprehensiveness and specifity of approach with innovative sub-programs. Description of Facility/Organisation:
