Abstract: Prahan Mission is a community based, Uniting Church, human service agency, that provides a range of psychiatric rehabilitation programs. Programs have been developed in direct response to consumer need and service gaps in the community, and are often unique. These programs are actively used to further knowledge in the field, through targeted use of program reviews, evaluation, data-base maintenance and research. It is the blend of professionalism and technical competence, a commitment to evidences base practice and a scientific approach to program development and evaluation together with a philosophy and practice of humanity, compassion and hope, that characterises Prahan Mission Description of Facility/Organisation: Prahan Mission is a Uniting Church, Non-Government agency of 13 discreet programs and approx. 100 staff. The agency is based in Prahan and serves the Southern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne. Seven psychiatric rehabilitation programs are offered, and together provide services to over 1,000 people with serious psychiatric disabilities per annum.
