Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to explore key issues in outcome measurement for the community based mental health support sector (CBMHSS) in general and for Mind Australia in particular. It explains Mind’s commitment to examining the quality and outcomes of its services. The paper introduces the rationale and describes the principles that need to underlie outcome measurement in the CBMHSS. It summarises a much more detailed outcome measures discussion paper that the author prepared for Mind Australia in 2012.
