Abstract: The Redcliffe - Caboolture Child and Youth Mental Health Service is a community based mental health program for children, young people and their families suffering from, or at risk from serios emotional distubance. It has a target population of 50,000 young people aged 0 - 19 who live in a rapidly growing area north of Brisbane. RCCYMHS is part of an Integrated Mental Heatlh Program and has seen 2,500 children and young people since its inception in November 1995. RCCYMHS is an extended hours service available 365 days a year and up to 9:00pm at night. It is mobile, providing immeditate crisis response and intervention as well as case management. It has an assertive outreach program forming partnerships with a number of community agencies to provide a range of innovative supporting programs. The service is completing an extensive outcomes evaluation project, involving consumer input as wekk as objective measures of behaviour change. Description of Facility/Organisation: Mental Health Sevice for Children and Young People aged 0 - 19 and their families. Community based ectended hours service available 13 hours per day, 7 days a week. Serves an area of 150,000 population in the Redcliffe Caboolture Health District. The team is 16 strong and has two physical sites.
