Abstract: Stephen Ling is a Nurse Practitioner at the Drug and Alcohol Consultation Liaison Service, John Hunter Hospital, Hunter New England Local Health District, and a Conjoint Teacher at the University of Newcastle.

Stephen Ling gave an interesting and thought-provoking perspective from the Emergency Departments (ED) in New South Wales hospitals. He painted the picture of ED presentations of methamphetamine users and gave us a rundown of how emergency nurses are challenged to assist these patients.
