Abstract: The Special Needs Accommodation Program (SNAP) is a housing and support program for adults with a psychiatric disability in East Gippsland, Victoria. NAP recognised the need for something beyond based housing and support, something that could meet consumer requests for meaningful activities. Following numerous submissions, sufficient composite funding was finally obtained. The 'Roundabout Project' gave seventeen consumers the chance to participate in the concrete sculpting and mosaic tiling of a 35 square metre roundabout in the CBD of Bairnsdale, the major regional centre of East Gippsland. Consumers drove the Project from the initial design stages through to organising an official launch, exhibition and project evaluation. Description of Facility/Organisation: The Special Needs Accommodation Program is a community based, Non-Government Organisation managed by a voluntary committee of Management and employing one (1) EFT Support Worker. SNAP receives funding via the Department of Human Services and Health, Victoria to provide long term housing and support to adults with a psychiatric disability in the East Gippsland region of rural Victoria.
