Abstract: As part of their role in the delivery of psychosocial rehabilitation services and holistic case management, Mission Australia staff in the Mental Health Division often asked “Who is responsible for dealing with the issues of smoking?’ and “what options are there for clients who want to reduce or even stop?” Staff started asking consumers about their smoking and were surprised by their responses. Mission Australia draws on its recent service delivery experience with two projects funded by the Cancer Council to share some of the outcomes from new responses to this often complex and sensitive topic for consumers and staff alike
