Abstract: Partners In Recovery (PIR) was implemented when Medicare Locals had been set up, and in the case of the Northern Sydney Medicare Local, the PIR contract was held by this entity and plans and implementation were well underway. Many individuals with serious mental illness had been assisted by the PIR project, some of these being homeless. With the change to Primary Health Networks, the transition was hoped to see sustained, if not improved, care coordination for participants. This paper examines the project and its survival under a different management organisation.
